Description

This is my first try on NGC 225, an open cluster of beautiful young stars in Cassiopeia. It was difficult to decide the right exposure, I did not want to blow out the stars and at the same time I wanted to bring up the abundant nebulosity (including the dark nebula LDN 1291)  and the soft flare around some areas of the cluster. This picture can be considered a test, and I gave it 2.5 hours of integration while I was waiting for a target.
NCG 225 has been estimated to be around 10 million years old, and there are about 20 bright stars of intense blue color. There is a lot of dark  blue in the background sky blended with brown nebulosity in the wide field.  A small bluish reflection nebula (VdB 4) is located next to the cluster, it is believed to be the remains of the nebula that formed the star cluster.
